2013 Easy Christmas Card series Card #1

Well it is that time of the year again, and I wanted to share with you my 2013 Easy Christmas Cards series. These cards will be easy and quick.  You can add more to them to make them your own, but they are great just the way they are.  My plan is to make at least one (1) card per week until December.  This will give you a good assortment of cards to choose from.  Here is Card #1.

Garden Girl Card

Wanted to share another card that made up from a Stampabilities image called "Lucy Watering Her Flowers", and their sentiment stamp.  I felt that this image and this sentiment go so nicely together.  The sentiment was stamped with a Stampin' Up Ink called "Bashful Blue" and cut out with a Spellbinders Nestabilities die called "Classic Scalloped Ovals Small".  The image was colored in with Copic markers (E00,11,13,25,39,49. V000,01,12,15, YG63,67, W1,3, Y02,35)  Then fussy cout out.  I used pop dots on the image to make it 3-D.  I added Stickles to the flowers, butterfly and to accent the little girl.  I also added Flower soft to the grass.

Happy Anniversary Card 2013

This is a card that just finished to give to my dear husband for our upcoming anniversary.  It is a Magnolia stamp called "Tilda with Peony".  I colored the image in using my Copic markers - E00,11,13,25,29,39,49, G00,28, YG95,97, R22,24,27,29,32,39, COO,1,3,5, BG11,15,45.  I add some flowers from the Michael's $1.00 bin in White, Cream and Red, along with some flat back pearls that I found online.  The image was cut out using a Spellbinder die  called "Floral Ovals".  Both sentiment stamps are by Stampabilities.

Exploring: Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut Cartridge

This is the 4th video in my "Exploring the Cricut Cartridge Series".  In this video  I show how to do the different faces using: 1-having the Cricut cut out the face, 2-using the Peachy Keen stamp "Simple Simons", and 3-the Sizzix Rub Ons "Dress Up Faces".  If you are using the 1" stamp and the rub ons the doll can only be 4"- 4 1/2" tall.  I also wanted to share how I used the Xyron Sticker Maker machine with its repositional adhesive applies to the clothing when making the paper dolls for kids to play with.  Remember to keep the sheets from the Xyron to store the pieces when not being used.  In making this diecut I used the Scotch Wrinkle-free Glue Stick and just love it.  I highlighted the clithing with gel pens.  I ordered the stamps online and the rub ons were purchased at a local craft store called Pat Catans.

2012 Christmas Cards 9-12

Here are 4 more cards that I completed for my 2012 Christmas cards.  I tried to make all the cards a little different with different techniques.  I am have a bunch of fun making my cards this year, I guess its because I started early and there is no rush to get them done.  I don't send out as many as I did before so that also helps.

My Copic Coloring Notebook

This is my version of a Copic Coloring Notebook.  I had made the smaller one that I saw on youtube but found that I didn't use it that much mainly due to the size, I aldo did not need a lot of the added pages, I just wanted something to use for my coloring and notes at a size that I like and this is what I came up with.  I keep it in my bag with I markers and it is there when ever I want to color.  I'm going to stamp up a lot of images (even full ones) and when ever I want to just color it is ready.  It is like a Smash Book for my coloring.

2012 Christmas Card 7 & 8

Here are 2 more of my 2012 Christmas Cards with the simple background.  The first card is made using the Inkadinkado Stamping Gear, and the second one has a Magnolia stamped image colored with Copic markers.  I am also trying not to buy anything to make these cards but to use up what I already have.

Martha Stewart - Stamp Around the Page

I wanted to share with you my new toy.  A local store called Pat Catans is having a Martha Stewart 50% off sale and saw these.  Had never heard of them before so at that price I decided to give them a try.  It took a few tries to figure it out but once you get it, it is really simple to do.  This is so much fun to play with.

Added Stamp Storage

I love my new stamp storage but found that as I was transferring my stamps over to this new method I was running out of the pockets and the store did not get anymore in. So I came up with this new method.  Now off to the store to buy more.

2012 Christmas Cards 4-6

Wanted to share with you a few more cards that I completed for this year.  I am having so much fun making these cards with the simple backgrounds.  You don't have to use a stamped colored image on the front, it could be a diecut or a sticker.  Just have fun at it.

2012 Christmas Card #3

This is another in my series of simple Christmas cards that I made for 2012.  It is a 5 1/2" square card.  I colored the Magnolia stamped image with Copic markers.  I used a Inkadinkado stamp to create the tree background,  these stamps are wonderful to create easy backgrounds.  I love how you can take these stamps and a little imagination to make a great background.

2012 Christmas Cards #2

This is my card #2.  I used Washi tape that was purchased from Target in a 4 roll pack.  I added ribbon and a bow to the front of this card.  I cut out a Magnolia stamped image and used foam dots to give it some added dimension.  I also stamped a poinsettia flower using the Inladinkado Stamping Gear then cut it out and added stickles.  This new toy (Stamping Gear) is a bunch of fun.

Copic Marker Paper Comparison

Wanted to share with you the results at I had using the different papers with the Copic markers.  There are many more papers and each person has their favorite.  I am not certified but wanted to share.  My suggestion would be to try several different papers and see what works best for you.  Maybe if you have a friend with different paper do a share with what you have (it could be 1 sheet).  Have fun crafting.

12 Tags of 2012 - May

This is my version of Tim Holtz May tag for his 12 Tags of 2012.

The tag was cut using the Tim Holtz Alterations "Tag & Bookplates" die.  I used some Mulberry paper to cover the tag, first I crumbled the paper then inked it with distressed ink. The thread spool is from his "Sewing Room" die, I cut three from chipboard and applied foam squares in between each layer them wrapped it with Hemp.  Hot glued some silk flowers on it.  I stamped the dress form and the ruler from The Girls Paperie "Paper Girl".  The charm was made using the Epiphany Crafts round charm setting.

We lost my Mother-in-law a little over a week ago and I wanted to make some special Thank You cards to send out.  Her favorite color was blue so I made them blue in her honor.

12 Tags of 2012 - March

This is my March tag for Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2012.

The tag was cut using the Sizzix "Tim Holtz Alterations die - Tag & Bookplates". I did not have a woodgrain stamp but I did have the Sizzix "Tim Holtz Alterations Texture Fades Embossing Folder - Woodgrain". So I embossed the tag then inked with Ranger "Tim Holtz Distressed Ink - Vintage Photo". I was unable to stamp my sentiment on the embossed tag so I stamped it, inked it and cut it out before I applied it to the tag. The butterflies were made using Tim's method for mosaic. I did not have the metal flowers so I just added flowers and a brad. This was a fun one to make.

Christmas Cards #4

These are two more of my finished Christmas cards. I have had so much fun finding different types of cards to make. The first is a Criss Cross Card and the second is a regular fold card.

I first saw the Criss Cross Card on youtube and just had to make one. I didn't have a poinsettia punch or die so I used a Sizziz "Leaves" die then cut the leaf apart, embossed and curled the petals. Inked the edges with a darker color and starting with the bigger petals working my way from the outside in. Last added seed beads to the center. The tag holds the greeting and an image. The image was colored with Copic Markers. The top of the tag was cut from the Tim Holtz On the Edge die "Brackets".

This is a regular card form. The image was colored with Copic Markers and accented with Stickles. The image was cut out with a Spellbinders die. The edges of the background was cut with a Martha Stewart punch. Ribbon was added to accent the card.

Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas Tag #3

This is my interpretation of day#3's tag. Once again I did not have a lot of the items needed to make it the way Tim did, but here is mine.

I did not have the stamp or the matching embossing folder. So what I did was using the Gypsy I made a tag the size I was using. Then made the lettering that were suppose to be embossed placed them inside the tag and fit for size. I next deleted the tag and cut the letters with the Cricut in the correct colors. I stamped the bottom words, then used the Xyron to apply the letters. Then misted the tag with Glimmer Mist (Iridescent Gold). The leaves were cut with the Cricut , a few Sizzix Dies and a punch. The edges were inked with Adirondack Caramel ink. Now to work on day #4.
