Purse and Binder Charms

I have been having so much fun making these purse (chunky charms) and binder charms.  I had made the one for my binder earlier but while watching youtube I came across the purse charms or chunky charms and had to make them.  So I pulled out my beads, some old jewelry and got to work.  I had so much fun making them that I decided to make two as Christmas gifts.  I hope to soon do a video and share how I made them.

Holiday Binders

I wanted to share with you my new Thanksgiving Organizer Binder.  I have used one for Christmas for the past 2 years and just love it.  So this year for Thanksgiving I made myself a note of what I wanted to do and when.  Boy did that work, I was so thrilled with how smoothly everything ran that day.  So off to Pinterest to see if there was anything out their, and there was plenty.  I just picked out things I thought would work for me and made up the rest.  I used a composition book covered with scrapbook paper on my cover, I made up the dividers on "MS Word" and a free image of the internet.  The tabs are just a 2x2 piece of cardstock folded in half, rounded the corners and used my label maker.  The paper that I used on the cover was so decorative that I only added a couple 3D embellishments.  Now I am off to transfer my worksheet to my new book.

My New Wax Melter and Wax

I wanted to share with you my latest obsession, WAX, lol. I got my first wax melter a year ago and didn't use it very much.  But I moved the melter from my craft desk a few months ago to my computer desk and have been  using it everyday since.  I love most of the scents but I live in a house of men and they are not thrilled with it.  Little do they know that I bought them melters for their rooms for Christmas.  Plus my husband has a problem with too spicey scents.  So I just have to pick carefully.  If I buy one that is too strong I add some Vanilla to it to tone it down.  I have even started making some of my own tarts.  It is really not very hard and does not take much time.  It's a lot of fun learning new crafts.

Project Life Week 40 - 43

I wanted to share my latest Project Life pages.  I am playing catch-up, so I decided to print out all my pics and place them in my book in the proper order.  Then I worked from the back to the front (because it was all fresh in my head) and get my pages done.  I was able to finish these four week in a weekend.  I have been having a ball finishing all these pages.  So now off to work on more pages.

2013 Easy Christmas #4

This is my card #4 in my mini series for my "2013 Easy Christmas Cards".  This card can be used as a regular greeting card or it can be easily made into a money or gift card.  This is a small regular A2 size card, using your base card of 5 1/2 X 8 1/2, scored and folded at 4 1/4.  The outside of the card is very easy to make using a piece of paper the is 4 1/4 X 5 1/2, two pieces of ribbon, a bow and a small scrap of paper to make a tag.

Outside:

The inside is a piece of paper that is 2 1/2 X 5 1/2.  I used a 1" circle punch to cut the notch out of the top of this piece.  Use wet glue to attach this section to the inside of the card.

I hope that you enjoy this card and find it useful.

2013 Fall Decorations

I wanted to share my Fall decorations.  I usually don't decorate to Fall but after making the wreath I had to add to it to make the room complete.  I didn't want to add too much but spots of Fall around this room only. I had some large pumpkins that a dear niece made, I just added some Fall leaf garland, flowers, a few scarecrows and lots of loose leaves.  I really like how is all came together.  I will keep it this way until after Thanksgiving then I will start my Christmas decorations.

Most of my decorations I either found on sale or at a great price.  This basket I found at a store called Ollies.  It was a little deep so I added dark colored plastic bags in the bottom before adding the leaves.  I added a candle to the center (a gift from another niece) plus some plastic accents.

The two little scarecrows I found at the dollar stores, the candle is from Joanns with a leaf garland from the Dollar Tree.  The big basket I already had with greenery in it, I just removed it and added two large bunches of Fall sprays from Joanns.  This is very easy to change out for every season.

Deco Mesh Ribbon Wreaths

I just wanted to share with you how I made my fall wreath.  I first saw the wreath on a fellow youtuber's channel (Sonia De Jesus), she made them for Halloween.  Since I don't decorate for Halloween  anymore, when I saw her's I had to make one and I couldn't wait for Christmas to make one.  So I made a Fall one.  For both wreaths I used a 14" wired ring from Pat Catans.

This one is made using the Decorative Mesh from SimpleStyle from Walmarts.  It is 10" wide and 10' long, I think I used about 8 1/2 '.  I decorated it with some 3" ribbon mesh and the scarecrow from a local store called Marcs, the flowers are from the Dollar Tree.  The leaves and pumpkins are from Family Dollar.

This one is made using a 21" wide stripped Fall Deco Mesh Ribbon from Hobby Lobby.  The leaves are from the Dollar Tree. The ribbon and pumpkins are from Joanns.  I made this one for one of my sisters and I wanted to leave room for her to add her own personal touch.

I show in this video how to put the wreath together.  It is very easy to make.  The hardest part was how to decorate it.

2013 Easy Christmas Cards #3

This is the third (3rd) card in my mini "2013 Easy Christmas Card" series.  This card is made using the card base ( 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of card stock), a chipboard sticker, some scrapbook paper, and two punches ( 1- hole punch, 1-holly leaf punch).  I also added a few rhinestones and some Stickles to the holly berries.  I'm trying to make these cards simple with the least amount of tools but to make them not look that way.  These are all basic cards that can be dressed up with what ever you like to make them your own.  So have fun with them.

2013 Easy Christmas Card #2

Here is this weeks card in my mini series of "2013 Easy Christmas Cards".  This one is mad using the card base, a scrap of Christmas paper, a piece of ribbon, an epoxy brad, one (1) punch, and a few rhinestones and you are all done.  Very easy to mass produce.  I used a holly leaf punch but you can use what ever you have to make the wreath.

2013 Easy Christmas Card series Card #1

Well it is that time of the year again, and I wanted to share with you my 2013 Easy Christmas Cards series. These cards will be easy and quick.  You can add more to them to make them your own, but they are great just the way they are.  My plan is to make at least one (1) card per week until December.  This will give you a good assortment of cards to choose from.  Here is Card #1.

Garden Girl Card

Wanted to share another card that made up from a Stampabilities image called "Lucy Watering Her Flowers", and their sentiment stamp.  I felt that this image and this sentiment go so nicely together.  The sentiment was stamped with a Stampin' Up Ink called "Bashful Blue" and cut out with a Spellbinders Nestabilities die called "Classic Scalloped Ovals Small".  The image was colored in with Copic markers (E00,11,13,25,39,49. V000,01,12,15, YG63,67, W1,3, Y02,35)  Then fussy cout out.  I used pop dots on the image to make it 3-D.  I added Stickles to the flowers, butterfly and to accent the little girl.  I also added Flower soft to the grass.

Happy Anniversary Card 2013

This is a card that just finished to give to my dear husband for our upcoming anniversary.  It is a Magnolia stamp called "Tilda with Peony".  I colored the image in using my Copic markers - E00,11,13,25,29,39,49, G00,28, YG95,97, R22,24,27,29,32,39, COO,1,3,5, BG11,15,45.  I add some flowers from the Michael's $1.00 bin in White, Cream and Red, along with some flat back pearls that I found online.  The image was cut out using a Spellbinder die  called "Floral Ovals".  Both sentiment stamps are by Stampabilities.

Project Life Week 28 - 31

Week 28:  This was a very uneventful week as far as pictures go, but it was alot of work.  I moved some the cubes around in my craftroom to separate the office/business section and the crafting area.  I really like it better this way.  It does make my crafting section look smaller, but I have some ideas on how to change up that section.  Since my craftroom/office is our former dining room (which was very rarely used), I was able to take the table/chairs out but had to keep the china cabinet.  So seeing that we didn't use the china, I boxed it up and put all my items that I sale on etsy in it.  I love the way it worked out.  The cubes on the office side were cleaned out  and all office supplies are now stored there.

Week 29:  For this week I worked on completing my Baby Storage Box with Mini Album.  I had fun making this.  Being that I have only sons, I got a chance to really play with this one.  I really like how the booties came out.  Also that week at work I had to go with my client to an appointment at Cleveland Clinic and had these really strange computerized devices.  I had to take a picture of them.  My son said that there were probably magnets in the ground that they run on.  I could not believe how many there were.  They were taking supplies and trash up and down the halls.  They even went around corners.  My son said that they look like the things from Star Wars.

Week 30:  This was a real fun week.  My niece graduated high school this past June and my brother and his wife gave her a party.  It was alot of fun. There were some people I have not seen in years there.  I won a gift on a blog post from Veronica Chambers at inkallusions.blogspot.com.  I have entered but have never won, I was so excited to see my name on her blog, I had to ask her if it was me.  She even added some extra goodies.  Also this week I received my first "Happy Mail" from a member on one of my Facebook groups.  I felt like a kid at Christmas.

Week 31:  This was another great week for me.  My first RAK (Random Act of Kindness) from a Youtube subscriber, "stampingsongbird" .  WOW!!!!! was I excited to to get her lovely gifts.  She sent so very much and everything that I could use,  I wanted to include the lovely card she sent also.  This weekend was also Italian fest downtown and I had to go to get their Elephant Ears.  I have not been in several years and this time there was a small fee to get in, they stamped our hands with a Smiley face.  We brought the ears home to share with the boys.  I liked the powdered sugar ones the best.

Now on to the last few weeks.  I can't believe that I have kept up with it this far but it is so easy.

Happy Mail Card

This is a card thast I made to send out in a "Happy Mail" package to someone in a Facebook group that I am apart of.  It is a digital image from Tiddly Inks Acrylic and Didital Stamps.  It is a 3 part image.  You get the little girl, the mail box and the bird.  I colored the inages with my copic markers.  The girl was cut with a Spellbinders die and the mail box was cut completely out then pop dots applied to bump it out.  The papers were just scrap pieces.  All I did was add ribbon and some bling.  The mail bix just said "Mail", I added the "Happy".   I have not colored in awhile, it was fun.

Project Life Weeks 25 - 27

Wanted to share with you the last two weeks of my Project Life album.
In this week we finally got a chance to go for a swim in our pool.  The water felt great.  This was also Father's Day and I got my husband a new tool box, lining and tool from Sears for a combination Father's Day/birthday present.

This week was another warm week so perfect for the pool.  We also pulled weeds from my rose garden and got poison ivy.  We have never had poison ivy in our yard before.  I had on gloves but some touched my arms when I was putting it in the garbage.

For the last week it was my husbands birthday, I had already got him his last week so I got him a plaque. We also had eat what ever the birthday person wants.  So we had BBQ ribs, burgers, hotdogs, sausage, pork steaks and all the extras.  We also have a Bababa-nut cake from our favorite bakery called Classic (was Mr. Pauls).

Decorated Baby Girl Mini Album with Box

I wanted to share with you how I decorated the album and the box.  It took me longer to decorate and embellish it.  I really like how it came out.  I was going to buy some baby shoes to put on the box when I came across how to make them.  I practiced on different materials and really liked how they turned out.
I hope you enjoy the video.  This item is available for purchase at my etsy shop:

Baby Mini Album with Storage Box

I wanted to share with you a new project that I have been working on. It is a mini album with a keepsake box. I have been working on this one for awhile.  The album was easy, but the box gave me some trouble.  I could not think of how to make the shelf in the box.  I tried so many different ways but did not like how they came out.  Then the other day I woke up with this idea, came straight to my craft room to give it a try and I liked the way it came out.  In my mind what I wanted to use this box and album was for a keepsake for the new baby.  I figured that you could put in it things like the little hat from the hospital, a pair of the first booties, a little onesie, the hospital band, etc.  Then in the album you could include all the special moments of the baby.  All safe and in one place.  I'll show in my next two videos how I put the album together.  The video on the box will be coming soon.  Hope you enjoy and find it helpful.

Travel Smash Book Page #1

When I made this Travel Smash book I have planned on only using it for over night trips but thought that I only do over night trips once or twice a year.  So I decided to add pages whenever we go out of town.  We usually have to go to Cleveland every few months for my husbands doctors appointment.  I decided to take pictures of what I saw and journal what we did.  So here is my first page.  It is from a recent trip to Cleveland.  This was on our trip back home.  I went on mapquest.com and printed out the map, pulled a tiny car punch and punched out a white car (we drove my husbands car that is white), I put the journaling and receipts in a pocket behind the top picture.  This smashing is a lot of fun.

Helpful Hints #8

Hi, I wanted to share with you a few things that I came up with that I think you may find helpful.  First I wanted to keep my plastic on my Smash book but still use my pen, so all I did was cut out the pen area and tape the excess flat.  I found that I needed to use a wide tape because my pages were getting hooked , but how it closed smoothly.  Next I wanted a Geotag stamp but could not find one in the stores so I thought just make one.  I pulled out the rubber that I had made some homemade stamps with and with a little thought  along with some trial and error here is what I came up with.  Finally I wanted to make the page inserts to add pages or items to my Smash book or any book that has the spiral binder (all you need to do is adjust the length).  All I did was to open up the ones that I bought and copy what they did.  Now I can make them to match any page or just a basic white or black to add to any spiral notebook.  I hope that you find my hints helpful.

Smash Book - All My Crafts #1

I have just become addicted to a new way of scrapbooking (for me) called Smash Books.  I purchased my first one to put in all the different things and pictures that I have found around while doing my cleaning, ex: found alot of pictures and old check cashing cards when I cleaned out my china cabinet.  Well that was only the beginning, I now have five and have the stuff for making another.  I am using one for whenever I travel, even when it is just for the day I am taking pictures out of the window of stuff I see.  I am using another for all my cards that I receive.  One I have not used yet but I'm thinking of using it for things about me and my husband, and here the the final one.  It is for my craftroom and sewing room, I wanted to show all the different transformations.  I will also include pics of all the different crafts and sewing items that I have made over time.  So here is ten of the pages that I have done so far.

Project Life Weeks 23 & 24

I wanted to share my last 2 weeks of Project Life, I still can't believe that I have kept up with this for this long. I guess it has something to do with it being fun and easy.  I'm using a combination of Becky Higgins Project Life kits the picked up at Hobby Lobby and other cards, along with some paper from my stash.

In Week 23: There was not much going on around here.  I did get alot of crafting done this week though.  I worked on my card for a PL card swap that I am in, and here was the finished result.  We also finished filling up the pool.  It has been nice the past few days so I did get a chance to take a dip.  It felt to good.

In Week 24: This was the week before Father's Day and I went out with my husband to Sears and had him pick out a new tool center.  He really loves it.  He came right home and put it together (not much to do just put the top on and add the casters).  Also that week my husband also had an appointment in Cleveland and while we were up there I got a chance to go to Marshalls.  Got alot of Thickers that day.  I Googled and found that there were several near the hospital, so I am ready for the next time we have to go up there.

Wanted to share with you my weeks 21 & 22 of the Project Life album.  I used 2 differnet core kits that I purchased from Hobby Lobby.  I like to use different kits along with different papers in my album.  I keep the same colors per week but like my weeks to look different.  I really like the Project Life core kits and can't wait to see more.  I saw that Archivers are now selling them, hope I can find a different kit when I go to Cleveland next week.

Homemade Travel Smash Book and Smash Book Travel Bag

I wanted to share with you my new homemade Smash book and my Smash book travel bag that I put together to take on trips.  The bag with four of the small bags I found at Walmarts for only $10.00.  I purchased an additional pencil case at Target that matched.  I went through my stash and found things that I thought would work well for my Smash book.  For the cover I found a paper pack at Walmarts and used the map paper.  I can't wait to take a trip to add goodies to my book.  I'm hoping that I can find anything from previous trips to start now.  Hope I didn't throw them all out.  Can't wait to share my pages with you.

Baby Boy Mini Album

This is an album that had been sitting in my to-do bin for a long time, so I pulled it out and finished it.  I love the way it turned out.  It is a chipboard mini album with a soft spine.  Some of the diecuts were cut using the Cricut.  I added a lot of over sized tags.  I tried to use different methods for each page.  I included pocket pages, flip pages and blank pages.  This album ended up with plenty of space for pictures and journaling.  I had fun completing this album and found that I miss making them.  Now that I am caught up with my Project Life album I can make time to get back to creating things again.

Project Life Week #16

I am finally caught up on my Project Life album pages.  This week was all about the outside.  Grass was cut for the first time this year, and boy did it need it.  The boys were not thrilled to have to get out there.  My husband drained and cleaned the top of the pool, the tulips were in bloom and my rose bushes had new leaves.  For Mother's Day every year instead of getting flowers I asked my husband to buy me a rose bush instead.  This is my very first one.  The tulips were from a house up the street that had been torn down and they were going to level the land off, so my husband dug them up and transplanted them before they got destroyed.  I was very surprised that they took so well and came back up this year.

This is the fifth video in my "Exploring the Cricut Cartridge" series titled : Exploring Sesame Street Seasons".  I purchased this cartridge at a local craft store on clearance for about $15.00.  This is a very nice cartridge with lots of really nice diecuts.  I really love it because it can be used year round on many different layouts.  It has diecuts for playing in the pool tp playing in the snow.

Project Life - Week #15

This is my week #15 of my Project Life album.  This one is also a 2-page layout due to it being my birthday. The first page is all about the cake, It was Banana Nut from Classic Bakery.  We had to get it on Sunday because they are closed on Mondays.  The second page was about my birthday and a gift that I received.  I had to work all day that day and the next two more.  I received a game called "The Big Bang Theory" from a friend.  Didn't get a chance to play until Saturday.  My dear husband gave me shopping money.  One of my favorite kind of gift.

I wanted to share with you how I am keeping up with my Project Life pages.  I also wanted to share my weeks 7 - 9.  With my system I was able to do these three weeks in one evening.  I don't have much time to scrapbook lately and found that Project Life was the way to go, (I am still saving pictures to do my regular scrapbook pages for those special days as usual).   Now I found myself getting behind using this method, but with my new system I am catching up fast without much effort.  At this rate I'm going, I should be caught up soon.  Once I am, I hope to add a regular scrapbook page per week to get caught up with them also.  A never ending project. Exploring: Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut Cartridge

This is the 4th video in my "Exploring the Cricut Cartridge Series".  In this video  I show how to do the different faces using: 1-having the Cricut cut out the face, 2-using the Peachy Keen stamp "Simple Simons", and 3-the Sizzix Rub Ons "Dress Up Faces".  If you are using the 1" stamp and the rub ons the doll can only be 4"- 4 1/2" tall.  I also wanted to share how I used the Xyron Sticker Maker machine with its repositional adhesive applies to the clothing when making the paper dolls for kids to play with.  Remember to keep the sheets from the Xyron to store the pieces when not being used.  In making this diecut I used the Scotch Wrinkle-free Glue Stick and just love it.  I highlighted the clithing with gel pens.  I ordered the stamps online and the rub ons were purchased at a local craft store called Pat Catans.
